Lovely place to spend 2-3 hours easily. Walk around the place, stroll to the beach area downstairs & enjoy some refreshments in the local shops. Beach covers three sides of the fort & each view is different. 🤩 Online tickets can be booked (or code owner ticket counter).

I recently visited Bekal Fort in Kasargod and was impressed by its cleanliness and well-maintained grounds. The atmosphere was calm and peaceful, making it perfect for a relaxing walk, especially during the cooler hours. The fort's historical significance and scenic views make it a great spot to visit for those who appreciate both. The fort's beauty and tranquility are undeniable, and it's a great destination for history buffs and those looking for a peaceful retreat. However, I did notice that some areas were being used by couples for intimate moments, which might make some visitors feel uncomfortable. This could be a consideration for families or solo travelers who might not expect such behavior. Overall, Bekal Fort is still worth a visit, as long as you're aware of the potential for some awkward encounters. With a bit more consideration for all types of visitors, it could be an even more enjoyable experience for everyone. Despite this, the fort's charm and scenic views make it a great spot to explore and unwind.

Bekal Fort is one of the most stunning historical landmarks in Kerala! The fort’s majestic structure, surrounded by scenic views of the Arabian Sea, makes it a perfect destination for history lovers, photographers, and nature enthusiasts. The panoramic views from the observation points are simply breathtaking, especially during sunset. However, one downside is the lack of proper maintenance in certain areas. Some parts of the fort, including signage and pathways, appear neglected, and better cleanliness could really enhance the experience. With a bit more attention from the authorities, Bekal Fort could truly shine as a top-tier heritage site.

Bekal Fort is one of the main and most significant attractions in Bekal. Rich in history, it stands as one of the largest and best-maintained forts in Kerala, managed by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). While there may not be many structures left inside, the fort's size, greenery, and panoramic views of the Arabian Sea make it worth a visit. Parking is available, and there’s a small market outside selling local food and products. The fort area is scenic, and a walk around can be quite refreshing. On average, about an hour is sufficient to explore the fort. If possible, plan your visit on a cloudy day, as it can get quite hot under the sun. If you're visiting Bekal, this fort is a must-see.
